Obedience The Obedience Section is the backbone and mainstay of the Society, and meets most Wednesday evenings throughout the year at Jubilee Hall, Bierton (map), just north of Aylesbury. The section continues the training taught on the starter course and progresses to teach higher level exercises, up to competition standard. We have always encouraged our members to enter Obedience Competitions.
Currently our Wednesday evening training is divided into four sessions, with each group training at a different level. Our obedience instructors have the ability to teach domestic control through to high level competitive obedience.
We are also members of the Chiltern Junior Obedience League; this gives our members the opportunity to practice competing in inter–club matches up to Novice standard. We have a successful team and have won the league in ten of the last fourteen years.
Our training also includes the exercises required to gain the Kennel Club Good Citizen Award at bronze, silver and gold levels. Most of the dogs currently working at the Society have achieved certificates at bronze level and many have gone on to achieve Silver and Gold levels. We usually organise these tests for members and their dogs once a year. These tests are currently not available to non–members.
The Society also runs a successful Open Obedience Show in May each year, attracting competitors from around the country.
